Making time to Work out:

Do you struggle to find the time to fit your work out in everyday? Do you tell yourself you'll do it after work and once that time comes you decide that snuggling up on the coach catching up on your DVR is more appealing?

I've been there. I made excuses a lot to why I couldn't find time to take care of myself. I thought I was to tired to work out, but really I was tired because I wasn't working out. It took some trial and error over a few weeks, but I was able to find a good routine for myself and my family that allowed me to get my work out in. 

Here are some things I've done to make sure I'm getting my work out in daily:
  • Work out in the Morning: This is big for me. If I say I'll do it later, 8 out of 10 times I won't (I'm being honest here). So by pushing play first thing each morning I make sure my work outs done for the day. 
  • Set a time each day that is your work out time: For me, it's 7am every morning. I make the kids breakfast, get them situated, then lace up my work out shoes and get to work! 
  • Get the family to join in: My 4 year old loves to jump in from time to time and do the moves with me. My 1 1/2 things it's hilarious to climb on me like a monkey while I'm doing planks or floor work. I love it though because they are learning the importance of exercise and taking good care of the bodies that God has blessed us with. 

  • Calendar your work outs! Every time I start a new work out schedule (example: 21 day fix, 21 Day Fix Extreme, Piyo, Turbo Fire etc.) I plug the entire round (3 weeks, 12 weeks, etc.) into my google calendar. That way everyday I can open up my calendar app and there is my scheduled work out for the day. When you put a lunch date or a special event on your calendar you stick to it and show up right? By putting your scheduled work out on your calendar you are making yourself accountable.
(My little Miss. The second she sees me on the ground for planks or other floor moves she's either on my back, or underneath me giggling.)

21 Day Fix and 21 Day Extreme Results

Good Morning Everyone! Rise and Shine :) 

I wanted to share with you about 21 Day Fix and 21 Day Fix Extreme and why they've worked for me. I've been an avid Beachbody customer for going on 8 years now and when Autumn joined BB as a Trainer I wasn't sure what to expect of her new program 21 Day Fix. I took the plunge in mid August 2014 right after my birthday. I realized this was my last year of my 20's and I wanted to go into my 30's healthy, with more energy to run around and chase my kids and to be a more positive person. 

When I started 21 Day Fix my son was 3 1/2 and my daughter was 7 months old. They keep me very busy/along with working from home. On a good day was fortunate enough to have 30 minutes straight to get a work out in. I was struggling to get through my Turbo Fire or Insanity work outs because my 7 month old would just be DONE in her saucer 35- ish minutes in.  I was also burnt out on calorie counting. I was faithfully plugging in EVERYTHING I ate all day/everyday into MyFitnesspal.com and not loosing weight. I was frustrated and felt like I was never going to loose this pregnancy weight.

That's where 21 Day Fix came in!

I did 2 back to back round of 21 Day Fix (6 weeks total), drank Shakeology everyday and I could feel myself gaining more energy, my clothes were fitting better, I was happier and person.



I lost 16 pounds, 9 inches and went down 2 pant sizes.

The best part though was I wanted to run around and play with my kids more. And as a Mom of 2 under 4 (which means I don't sleep a lot), who also works, and juggles life itself, this was a huge blessing for me.

It was my portions that were the issues. Once I took the time to measure my proper servings in my colored containers, and pushing play everyday for 30 minutes to do the work outs. It clicked and the weight started to fall off.)
  • Autumn (the trainer) is motivation, personable and she kicks your butt!
  • It's only 3 weeks. 21 days everyone, that's it. It takes that long to make a habit. So why not spend those 3 weeks creating new healthier habits for you and your family?
  • The kids can do it too! (My 4 year old son loves to pick up two trains, pretend they are weights, and work out right a long side me. I'm getting my work out in, my son is involved and I'm getting to spend a little extra time with him doing something that will better us both. Win!)

A little bit about me

Hi Everyone!

I thought I'd write a quick little blurb about me so you could get to know me a little bit better. My name is Jenny, I'm a Wife and a  Mama to two silly, spunky kiddos.

This is my little family right here:

A little more about me? 

- I love all things Pumpkin
-My favorite Movie of all time is Forrest Gump (boom, double win on the meme for this one!)

- I heart Coffee

- I love photography. I used to have my own photography business. Now it's just something I do for fun.

- I have a passion for Whole Wellness and Fitness and I'm the Co-Founder of the Dream Big Tribe. The DBT is a fellowship group with 400+ women filled with daily encouragement, fellowship and health and wellness tips. 



-I love the smell of puppy breath (I know I'm weird)

- I don't like fruit (again, I know I'm weird)

- I'm a recovering picky eater (self diagnosis)

- Random fact I refused to try black beans until my mid 20's. I'm a work in progress.

-I married my HS Sweetheart. We started dating when I was 16, and been together overt 14 years now!)

Over the course of my 20's I gained and lost over 70 lbs twice. Being diagnosed with PCOS, giving birth to my 2 beautiful babies, loss and anxiety gave my body the run around and I struggled to maintain an healthy lifestyle. I started to work out 5 days a week, eat clean portioned meals and started to replace chemical based cleaning products and make up. Over the course of 2 years I lost 40 lbs and found a passion in making a healthy lifestyle simple and wanted to share it with others! Which is why I started this blog :)


I homeschool our kiddos! God put it on our heart to start this homeschool journey here on our homestead. I'm honored to have this role in our family's life. It's not always easy, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.



Now:

Now I live out in the country with my family! We are building our forever home and in the early stages of establishing R&M Ranch. A legacy we plan to leave to our children one day. We spend our days together exploring, getting dirty (there is a lot of dirt when you live on dirt road), and working hard. The best part of it all? We get to do it together. Why I decided to become a wellness coach and share what I do:

I love to serve others! To be able to encourage you, cheer you on as you go through your journey is a privilege.



I'm on this journey right along side you and as a team we can cheer each other on, support one another and motivate.
