Is Core De Force really worth it? My 60+ day review of the program

I've been getting lots of messages asking about what program I've been doing.

Is it worth it?

How many days is the program?

What can you eat?

Do you actually get results doing this at home?

Do you like it?

I can answer this short and sweet for you in the video below:

My official day 68 results pictures are on the video about. I can tell you though that in such a short amount of time:

- I have more endurance
- I don't have that "I need coffee to survive" feeling I used to have in the mornings
- I'm in a better mode.
- I have a healthier association with food. As a stress eater this has been a huge milestone for me.
- I look forward to pushing play each day.
- I've gone down 2 jean sizes
- I'm down 10 lbs and 13.5 inches.

This is the first time ever during the holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years) that I've LOST weight instead of gained weight.

I'm not the only one on my team that feels this way. There are how some of our challengers felt just three weeks into the program!

If you are ready to commit to a program, get that fight back and take the stress out of learning to meal prep, cleaning out your pantry and sticking to clean eating all week long, I have the group for you.

Our first ever Virtual Gym group is getting AMAZING results just one week in. Combined they have lost over 35 lbs and 27 inches! Amazing!

Week 0 Begins: January 30th
(Daily Workshops teaching you how to meal prep, clean out your pantry, get organized and more)
Week 1 Begins: February 6th

30 Days, that will not only get you results but it will create healthy habits you can take with you all year long. We also have a graduate program that is the next level in your health and fitness journey once you complete this challenge. So your journey won't end at 30 days, it will continue all year long and beyond!

Thanksgiving Survival Tips - Enjoy your meal AND stay on track with your goals - 21 Day Fix and Core De Force Approved!

Let's set the stage.. you are in the middle of a round of a program right now... 21 day Fix, Core De Force (like me), or maybe Piyo or Cize, etc. and you're wondering. "How am I going to stay on track and not lose my hard work over Thanksgiving week?"

I have a blog post for that!

Here are 6 tips I personally will be using this week to stay on track with my health and fitness goals. I hope you find them helpful!

1. Tracking Portion Control Containers? Save your yellow and blue containers for your Thanksgiving meal. That will go a long way, trust me!

2. Drink your Shakeology 1-2 hours before your meal. You'll get your super foods, daily vitamins, probiotics and and all it's delicious goodness. PLUS it will fill you up and help you not over eat during the meal itself.

(want the recipe? Check it out HERE)

3. Fill your plate with mostly veggies! Enjoy that turkey, have a little of your favorites to get your fix. But make sure you eat lots of veggies.

4. Have a special dish that is only made once a year? Enjoy it! For me it's my Mother-in-laws stuffing. I look forward to it all year long! Or my Mom's mashed potatoes.. MMMmmmm I can taste them already. The point is, enjoy those special dishes. Just keep them in smaller portions.

5. Workout in the Morning: Yep, you heard me! Get that workout in first thing. You'll thank yourself! Burn off some calories before the big meal, and not miss a workout during the round of your program. Win win!

6. Listen to your body when you're full: Your body will tell you when it's had enough. Don't feel like you have to keep eating for the sake of it being Thanksgiving. You'll save yourself some bloat and a stomach ache later.

When Thanksgiving is over what's next? Keep going with your program! Haven't started a program yet or looking to switch it up? Join my Core De Force Challenge Group that begins 12/7 :)

Zero Equipment. MMA Style Workouts that will ignited that fire inside you to fight for your health. Don't wait tell Jan 1st. to start on those goals. We'll be ENDING our 30 days just after the New Year. How's that for starting off 2017? Already shedding weight and inches and knocking out goals?

Core De Force Week 1 Progress and Review

I've been doing rounds of programs long enough now to know something that holds true (at least for me). How you push through week #1 of a program will set the tone for the rest of it! Nutrition is the #1 most important aspect. It's 80% of our results for a reason. Choosing whole foods, skipping processed, making proper portioned meals and getting your dense nutrition in is a big deal!

The rest? Your workouts and your mindset!

These are big deals too.

So I went in to Week #1 ready to give this all I got. With the mindset that I wanted to get the best results I've ever gotten in 30 days of a program. How will I do that? By sticking to this program 100%! Nutrition, Workouts, Mindset.

Let me tell you.. I am EATING on this plan! Not feeling deprived at all. I have been eating 80% meal prepped food from my Sunday Meal Prep and it's made such a big difference keeping me on track. You can check out my menu HERE.

Want a sneak peek of my Day 4 workout? Bonus: you get to see my 2 year old sing the ABC's while I catch my breath.

Want to know my thoughts on week 1 before you see my results? You can watch my review here on my VLOG:

Ok Week #1 progress. In 7 Days I am down 4.5 inches and 4.2 lbs!

I'm sleeping better, sore but my energy level is up and I am already noticing I'm getting stronger! I can't wait to see what a full 30 days brings!

Stay tuned for my Week #2 Meal Prep/Menu post coming tomorrow!

If you want to join me in my next Core De Force Group, we are starting to fill up spots! We begin together 12/7

Core De Force: Week 1 Meal Plan and Easy to use Grocery List

This new program is all about doing things different for me this time. One of those things is I've NEVER posted before pics until I have after pics it show for it. (before pics will be at the end of this post)

If I want to make a change and give this all I've got, I've got to set the tone now.

These last few months I've allowed life and the "stress" of it to dictate my emotions and my eating habits. As a coach I've been pretty embarrassed and afraid to show that I can't seem to get it together.

I'm recommitting myself to the goals I've made and am going to give this 110%. For myself, and for my challengers that I want to help encourage and inspire. I'm ready to lead by example and rise up again!

Something pretty cool happened. I got selected to be in a team test group! What does that entail? I had to sign a contract, take before mics and measurements, and commit to sharing this entire 30 day journey through VLOGS and well... blogging!

This weekend I rocked out to "Eye of the Tiger" and got my meal prep on! I recorded a step by step video for my challengers showing them how I meal plan for each week and gave them my special Weekly Meal Planning Template and Grocery List. If you would like a copy of this you can email me at CoachJennyM@gmail.com or fill out the quick form at the end of this post.

I love using this grocery list. It breaks the items I need up into the portion control container they go in. It's a great way to help learn what goes in what container and I'm a softy for organization!

So what did I Meal Prep to make my life simpler this week and how long did it take? I will answer that right now!

This week's Meal Prepped Menu:
- Fixate Veggie Egg Cups
- Chopped veggies for snacks
- Egg roll in a Bowl for Lunches
- Extra Ground Beef to use for Monday's dinner
- Sliced Bananas, put in the freezer to use for my daily Shakeology.

How long did it take? 1 hour! That's it! That 1 hour of prep I did in the kitchen will not only help me stay on track with my nutrition this week.. but it saves me TIME and reduces stress! I'm on the go all day long, so to have my food in the fridge, prepped/cooked ready to eat is huge for me.

It was so fun to see all the meal prep pics from my Team and I's challengers this weekend! We are all SO pumped to begin!

(Day 0 Vlog for the Coach Test Group)

My Goals for these 30 days?
- Complete all the workouts.
- Stick to the Eating Plan (100%)
- Be transparent. Share this journey as a whole. Highs, lows, and in between.
- Have a positive attitude. This is a BLESSING!

Does this sound like something you want to do? Are you right to Fight for your health? My next Exclusive Core De Force Challenge group that starts in a few weeks is already filling up!

Faith and Sweat: The Awakening

I began my coaching journey after losing 40lbs with 21 Day Fix and Shakeology and feeling like a brand new me. I wanted to shout from the roof tops what I had learned and had a passion ignited in me to help as many people as I could. That's where our team was born! Dream Big Tribe grew and grew and together we were building a community of women who had a judgement free zone, a safe place they could check in daily to share their achievements and struggles, and anything else on their heart.

(Before I started making healthy changes/Me as a new Coach)

Then I hit a personal road block that felt like continued hurdles one after the next. Only a few months into my coaching journey I was hit on the freeway in an accident that literally rocked my world. Months of Physical Theraphy/Dr. Apts and a diagnosis of PTSD left me feeling a wave of emotions of  feeling defeated and determined to come out of this stronger than ever. A shorter version? I was in a glass case of emotions (yep I just made an Anchorman reference).

Anxiety, forgetfulness, feeling like Luna Lovegood with my mind jumping all over the place. I really struggled with focusing on one task and getting it done 100%. My workouts, my nutrition struggled as I attempted to put myself back to the person I was, the results I worked so hard for before the accident.

I'd get close, then something else would come up. Another hurdle, another obstacle. I'd find myself thinking "Why? What this now?" And feeling like a failure, a fraud of a coach because I couldn't get my self together.

Fast forward to present day, I want to tell you something that I realized. All this time I've spent trying to get BACK to the person I was pre-accident wasn't what I needed at all. Why do I say that?

Because I'm not that person anymore. And that's 100% ok.

God gives us events, seasons in our life to help mold us and shape us into the person He has planned for us to be. All these's hurdles, obstacles happening that have left me wondering "why?!" are examples of this. I needed to stop going backwards, to stop trying to be a person I wasn't any longer.

Taking a breath here for a second.. this is really hard to put out there.

While I've been going through these struggles being the scenes, on the outside I was trying to act like I was comfortable with who I was. I would share sprinkles of my anxiety, struggles, and did my best at the time to try to show the "whole" journey. But I was still afraid of what others would think, that I was coming across as a walking billboard for products and felt like I wasn't truly worthy enough to be a coach for other people when I couldn't get my own stuff together. In all honesty? The workout programs I've been doing these past almost 2 years, drinking my daily Shakeology has blessed my life in so many ways. I have more energy, my health is better for it and it's been a natural stress reliever for me. It's why I became a coach, because I truly believe Beachbody's products/programs are one of a kind and offer the ability to make this a lifestyle change and not a "quick fix, magic pill" that won't last. I also know that I'm not good to myself or others, if I'm not being authentically my self, the person God has designed me to be.

I've been pretty open with sharing that part of my journey with others. The part I haven't been sharing as much.. Me as a person. The Jesus loving, absent minded, anxiety filled, coffee drinking, arts and crafts addict, pumpkin fanatic, country living, mommy, wife, friend, daughter, sister, person.. that I am. I'm ready to embrace that and be that kinda coach, and stop trying to be the coach I used to be. Now more than ever I have a passion ignited in me to help others find peace, love, and confidence in their own skin. To be authentically you.

(Me now: No make up, post workout, Faith, Sweat and all. Ready embracing this new season)

That's where this new season has begun. 3 words that have been ringing in my ears for weeks now.

Faith and Sweat.

Typically when I come up with a new challenge group... new blog series... new coach training, etc.. I spend weeks and sometimes months behind the scenes building it up before I launch it.

I'm doing things differently this time. I'm going to be sharing with you from the very beginning.

What is Faith and Sweat?

Faith is crucial. Faith in God's timing, in His plan. Also, having faith in the process of making healthy lifestyle habits. Knowing that things take time, that this is a journey and not something that will happen over night. A daily choice to have faith in that journey and knowing that God is good all the time. Even when the season seems foggy or dreary.

"Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will be moved. Nothing will be impossible for you." Matthew 17:21

Sweat. I believe with all my heart that God gives us opportunities and gifts/life experiences to put to work, as tools to make things happen. You have big dreams? You have goals planted so deep in your heart that you want to make a reality? You gotta put in the sweat, the hard work to make it happen. It can be scary, sometimes it may feel like your feet are glued to the floor because you are afraid of failing. The truth? You will never truly fail with the Lord God on your side.

Have faith in the process, sweat your hearts hopes and dreams... Together, Faith and Sweat. Mountains will be moved.

Whether you have health and fitness goals you have started and stopped more times than you can count, have financial goals you want to reach, or whatever it is that's been planted in your heart to make a reality... I would love for you to join me from the beginning of this new project. This new season.

What will be a part of this project?

Honestly? I'm not 100% sure yet (see I told you this is starting from square one). There will Mon- Fri daily FB lives here: https://www.facebook.com/lifelightup/

There will be daily tips, and sharing my own personal journey as I dig into my own faith and sweat.

There will be blog posts.

There will be me here to encourage you, fellowship with you either in our Dream Big Tribe community and/or privately as your coach.

I'm done trying to be the coach I think I should be, and ready to be the coach/person that God has planned for me to be in this season of time.

Will you join me?

Recipe: Sweet Potato Chili - Instant Pot Edition

You might not know this, but I LOVE Fall.

Not just Pumpkin Spiced Lattes... I love the season Fall. The crisp air, the leaves changing, leggings, warm boots, hot cups of coffees and hot delicious comfort foods in the evening.

This recipe is making me really excited about the season changing. I made this recipe this week and my family loved it. When I first told them I was making sweet potato chili they turned their nose up at it. Then when it was time to eat, they were pleasantly surprised!

I can't tell you how happy that made me!

This new recipe will be a staple in my house from here on out. The best part is how EASY it was to prepare/cook! I hope you enjoy this recipe.

(This recipe is Dairy and Grain Free)

Ingredients:
2 lb organic ground beef
1 tsp extra virgin olive oil
2 garlic gloves, pressed
1 small red onion, chopped
30 oz organic tomato sauce
2 cups organic beef stock
2 carrots, chopped
3 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
2 tbsp cup chili powder (or less if you desire *wink*)
1 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp thyme
2 tsp sea salt
 1 1/2 tsp black pepper

Directions:
Set instant pot to saute and wait tell it says "hot". Add  1 tsp of evoo then ground beef and brown. Once beef has browned add onion, garlic and let simmer for a few minutes. Add the rest of the ingredients in. Stir well. Seal the lid and set the mode to "meat/stew" and it will automatically set for 35 minutes. Make sure the valve is set to sealed. Once done let it "natural release" in warm mode for 10 minutes. Stir well and serve.

Makes 8-9 servings

*Note if you aren't eating this "dairy free" you can add some shredded cheddar to the top. My kids love this!

*Note again: If you want more of a "kick" to your chili, you can add red pepper flakes to taste.

Ahhh Fall, my happy place :)

21 Day Fix/Country Heat/Portion Fix Container Equivalent:

1 Red 1 Yellow  1 Green 1 Purple
*Note I measured out my serving with 1 cup

This Instant Pot recipe was easy, a huge time saver and DELICIOUS! Stay tuned for more healthy comfort food recipes coming soon.

Taking the first step: Where I was and where I am now

The day you make the decision to change the way you view food and your health can either be very a blurry memory or crystal clear.

Mine was crystal clear.

I was on the beach with my little family on my 29th birthday. Lily was almost 7 months old and it was her first trip to the beach. I was too self conscious to wear even shorts so here I was on the beach in the hottest part of the summer wearing maternity jeans and a baggy shirt. We had to walk a few blocks away and I remember feeling so out of breath, so tired. I couldn't even run around with my 3 year old for long. I had to sit there on the beach and encourage him to play in the sand instead.

My Husband took a picture of me on the beach with the kids and when I looked that the picture that night I realized how poorly I had been taking care of my body. Yes I was a new mom and there are body changes that come with that (all which are beautiful).

The poor eating choices, zero exercise, tired all the time and the realization I had lost my drive/passion to do the things I love outside of being a mommy hit me looking at that picture.
My health in my 20's consisted of a lot of yo-yo dieting, searching for one quick fix to the next and my metabolism was tanked from it.

I made a promise to myself then that my 30's were going to be my healthiest years yet. I was going to do it the right way. Clean eating, exercise, and resetting my mindset from this being a chore to a blessing was the way I was going to do it.

10 days ago I turned 31. I thanked God that I was celebrating another year, and was still on track with the goal I set out to reach 2 years prior.

21 Day Fix's exercise and simple portion control eating plan, my daily shakeology and a challenge group started this ripple effect for me. It's why I became a coach. I want to help others create that ripple effect in their lives too.

Dream Big: Coach Summit 2016 Nashville Recap

2 weeks ago I was off on an adventure I had been dreaming and planning for over a year.

If you had asked me even 18 months go there's no way I would have even thought that I'd be off to Nashville by myself spending the weekend with ladies of a team I helped create surrounded by 20,000 + other people who shared the same passion I had. Say what?!

God had plans (as usual) for my life that I did not see or expect.

I am so thankful for that.

Instead of writing a novel on the entire recap of Summit, I'm going to share some of my favorite moments instead.

(Stepping off the plane and getting to give this beautiful woman on the righht here a hug was amazing! Long story short, we've actually been online friends for over 8 years and have NEVER met in person. Ashley you are so dear to me! Business partner, dear friend, accountability partner... I could go on and on. I thank God daily that he put us in each other's  lives!)
Live workout with Autumn Calabrese! We got to workout live with Autumn and do the "Chisel Agility". Oh my goodness, wow! It was crazy fun, intense and we sweated, A LOT. Definitely a highlight of the trip!

Getting to be with my coach Michelle! She's been an incredible mentor and friend to me over this past year and we hadn't seen each other since 2009 in person. It was a very LONG over due hug for sure!

The sight seeing! I didn't get to do much of it because we were on the go so much in and out of workshops, general sessions, events, etc. But what little I did get to see of Nashville outside was pretty cool! This San Diego girl couldn't get over how GREEN everything looked ! LOL

The CORE: Oh my goodness so many pretty things I wanted to buy haha. All the latest apparel, gear and more was inside that Core. Ashley and I had so much fun exploring we had to go not once but twice while we were there. I was also able to pick up my Country Heat kit before it had even started shipping. Whoot!

The Shakeology Bar; Need I say more? Ashley and I had so much fun getting our daily dose of delicious dense nutrition to fuel our jam packed days! My favorite recipe I had was Friday's special "Honey Nut Latte" that you can find HERE.

General Sessions and Workshops: I filled my brain, heart and notebook up with so many amazing take aways from these sessions! What did I hear over and over again? Servant heart, servant heart servant heart. Help others without expecting anything in return. Be a light, be an encourager.
I can tell you that leaving those sessions each day I felt very encouraged and inspired to keep going in the direction that we are going with the Dream Big Tribe.

80's Night/Billy Idol Concert: Because who doesn't like dressing up in fun clothes, wearing glow necklaces and rocking out? LOL

Our work at the house sessions and our Coach Sneak Peek Q&A we hosted on 2 LIVE formats. Ashley and I streamed a live Q&A inside our Dream Big Tribe group on FB AND on Zoom Thursday night. We had been planning for this for months and we gotta say it was pretty amazing! Over 150 of our DBT ladies tuned in.

Morning workout at the house with the ladies! We got our Country Heat on! I think we burned half our calories laughing and the other have learning the moves. Needless to say, it was fun.

Sharing the same flight home with creator of Shakeology & Ultimate Reset, Darin Olien. I got to personally thank him for how the Ultimate Reset helped me rid several of my PCOS symptoms without having to go on medication. This former breakfast skipper is in the best health of her life with the help of Shakeology and the tools I've learned from the reset.

Summit is over. 5 days, 4 nights, non stop team building, dreaming, learning and growing. I remember sitting at the airport trying to digest it all. Now more than ever I am excited to pour into the Dream Big Tribe, encourage others and help them with their health and wellness goals.

I never want anyone to think I have it all figured out when it comes to being healthy. I will never pretend to know more than I do. I will always be honest, real, and share the highs, lows and the hallways. In my 20's I gained and lost over 70 lbs twice. It wasn't until I was coming up on 30 did I realize I needed to make a change. I needed to stop chasing the magic pill and jumping from one thing to the next.

I needed to commit to a long term healthy lifestyle change. My husband, our two awesome kids inspire me daily. They are my why, the reason I am doing this. I used to think by taking time for me was being selfish, that as a mom I wasn't allowed to have that anymore.

I've now found that by taking those 30 minutes a day to workout, to make healthier choices with my food... I am able to pour more into my family.... because I have more energy! I'm happier, healthier and more passionate about the future than I ever have been.

I thank God everyday for this opportunity, I know it's gift and I plan to give it back every chance I get.

So, to sum it up. Summit was amazing. I missed my family like crazy, and I'm so happy to be home. Next year I'll be in New Orleans with even more ladies from our growing team. It's gonna be awesome, because we'll be together.

Is it on your heart to make a change? Are you ready to take a step forward and make the goals you've only thought about in the back of your mind, that you've been too afraid to speak up about a reality?

I want to help. I want to do this with you.
