Core De Force Round 1 Results and Review

Just like that 30 days gone in a blink! My Team and I decided we were going to accept the challenge of 30 Days of the brand new program Core De Force during the month of November. Right smack in the middle of the challenge? Thanksgiving!

We weren't going to let that stop us from tackling these goals we had set for ourselves!

Today I was reflecting back on my day 0 blog post where I shared my goals, plan, etc. to make this round of Core De Force my best round of a program ever. I didn't stick to the eating plan 110%, but I came pretty close! I even had 3 Thanksgiving dinners in 1 week that I had to balance out, and watch my portions.

Do I regret it? Now way!

This program has not only given me the quickest results I've ever gotten from a program, but it's helped me get my fight back. The girl on the right was in a pretty bad spot mentally and physically and was ready to make a big change. Core De Fore really helped me do just that!

I took these screen shots above from the MyChallengeTracker app from the Test Launch Group I was in for this round. Do you these show? 30 days of consistent workouts and getting my daily dose of dense nutrition. These 2 things are big factors in my results!

I will share my 30 day results here in a minute. But first I wanted to share with you some of my favorite things about completing this round:

- I have more energy
-I feel stronger
- I got to eat SO much good food! Homemade BBQ Chicken Pizza? yes please!
- My PCOS symptoms have drastically improved!
- My anxiety/PTSD has really calmed down A LOT.
- Team Work. I loved doing this with my team! Those ladies are amazing and really helped keep me going!
- Inches wise, this is the smallest I've been since before I had my kids. But I'm actually like 6 lbs heavier than I was at my smallest. Hello muscle!

My Round 1 Results? I'm down 8.4 lbs and 6.5 inches and 1 dress size!(2 of those inches were in my waist and 1 1/2 of those inches were in my hips.)

I love this program so much that I am not stopping it anytime soon! Round 2 began yesterday with the deluxe workouts and I'm ready to keep punching air and kicking high to reach my goals.

What did I eat this challenge?

SO much good food!

My team the Dream Big Tribe has been having such a big results and love of this program that we are keeping our challenge group OPEN! That means you can jump in with us right now if you want!

Core De Force Week 1 Progress and Review

I've been doing rounds of programs long enough now to know something that holds true (at least for me). How you push through week #1 of a program will set the tone for the rest of it! Nutrition is the #1 most important aspect. It's 80% of our results for a reason. Choosing whole foods, skipping processed, making proper portioned meals and getting your dense nutrition in is a big deal!

The rest? Your workouts and your mindset!

These are big deals too.

So I went in to Week #1 ready to give this all I got. With the mindset that I wanted to get the best results I've ever gotten in 30 days of a program. How will I do that? By sticking to this program 100%! Nutrition, Workouts, Mindset.

Let me tell you.. I am EATING on this plan! Not feeling deprived at all. I have been eating 80% meal prepped food from my Sunday Meal Prep and it's made such a big difference keeping me on track. You can check out my menu HERE.

Want a sneak peek of my Day 4 workout? Bonus: you get to see my 2 year old sing the ABC's while I catch my breath.

Want to know my thoughts on week 1 before you see my results? You can watch my review here on my VLOG:

Ok Week #1 progress. In 7 Days I am down 4.5 inches and 4.2 lbs!

I'm sleeping better, sore but my energy level is up and I am already noticing I'm getting stronger! I can't wait to see what a full 30 days brings!

Stay tuned for my Week #2 Meal Prep/Menu post coming tomorrow!

5 reasons why people put off taking care of their health

Have you ever heard something said to you by so many different people that you finally look up and say "Ok God, I hear ya."? Well that's happening to me currently. What is it that I keep hearing? "It's time to get back to basics."

I need to stop complicating things... to stop making them more intricate than they need to be. Simply... go back to the basics.

I sat down tonight to write a completely different blog post but this topic came to me. What are some of the reasons why people put off taking care of their health? I'm asking me 2 years ago this same question and this is what I came up with.

1.  I don't have time to workout: I'm gonna debunk this right now. 30 minutes a day is 2% of your 24 hrs you've given each day. We spend more time scrolling on social media and or watching tv/netflix binges than that. 30 minutes is all it takes to get a good workout in and improve your health.

2. I do well for a week and then I fall off the wagon: Been there, done that. Many, many times. What gets me back in the swing of things? My daily encouragement/challenge group and accountability partners on my team. I know they will tell me to step away from the cheeseburger if needed and will always be there to say "you can do this love, don't stop now". In the same breath I also know they will tell me to enjoy that said cheeseburger if it's a treat meal that I have once in awhile instead of a daily thing.

3. I have a bad knee or (insert injury here): 80% of your results come from nutrition. When I was recovering from my accident last year I was able to maintain my weight loss by sticking with my portion controlled containers and 21 Day Fix eating plan without workout out for almost 3 months straight.

4. I don't know where to begin: I would love to be able to help you with that! Together we can help find what program is right for you and your needs, what your goals are and how to begin without getting overwhelmed or frustrated.

5. I really enjoy desert: Have you seen my shakeology pie recipe or my Sea salt caramel shake?! Yum! I promise you can still feed your sweet tooth with delicious chocolate goodness without eating junk.

I can tell you now more than ever....This isn't about fitting into ___ size jeans, this is about improving my quality of life. I lift weights and eat whole foods because I want to be strong, healthier so that I can be the wife, mama and person God has called me to be. 2 years ago by 10 am I'd be on my 4th cup of coffee and still ready to go to sleep. Now coffee is optional, I drink simply because I enjoy it in the cool of the morning. The energy I've gained is so valuable. The perspective is priceless. If it's been put on your heart to make a change and improve your health I would love to help you. You can fill out the short application below and together we can do this.

Hammer and Chisel: Results and Review

This past Sunday 2/28 I completed my final workout on the 8 week Hammer and Chisel Program created by Autumn Calabrese and Sagi Kalev.

For those of you that know me, or have read my posts in the past I have done several Beachbody programs over the years. This was my first program to do after getting cleared to start working out again and building strength after getting injured in September. My strength in my left shoulder and my neck had decreased significantly so I was hesitant at first but very much up for the challenge.

Over the 8 week Challenge:

- I never missed a single workout
- I ate following the nutrition guidelines to a "T" about 70-80% of the time.
- I challenged myself each workout and gave it all I got.
- I lifted heavy weights and LOVED it.
- I gained energy and lost way more inches than I expected.
- I loved the muscle confusion techniques used, the variety of workouts and that every other day it was either Sagi or Autumn leading the workouts.
- I never got bored or burnt out
- The longest workout was only 43 minutes, but the majority were roughly 30 minutes. Which was perfect as a busy on the go mama.
- Being a part of a challenge group where I was getting daily accountability and support was a HUGE part of why I was able to finish this program all the way through.
- Loved the music, encouragement and motivation in each workout.
- Modifier that was in each workout was very helpful!
- It got me out of my comfort zone and it's my favorite program I've ever completed.

Some of the delicious clean foods I ate while doing the program that fueled my workouts and kept my belly full :)

Equipment I used:

The program gives you two options. You can either use a weight bench or a stability ball for several of the moves. I chose the stability ball because of limited space in my living room and it worked great! In fact as mentioned by the trainers in several of the workouts, I think I got a better core strengthening workout using it. You also have a choice of either using a pull up bar with or without the assistance attachment or a door attachment with a resistance band. Because my shoulder was just healing up I decided to go with the resistance band with the door attachment. It worked great and I'm looking forward to using the bar next round.

Results:

After 8 weeks of pushing play 6 days a week and following the eating plan about 75/25 my results were:

Total weight lost: 6.8
Total Inches Lost: 10 inches

I was shocked! I went down 1 pant size and I can fell the physical strength I've gained!

Who is this program for?

I would say this program is for anyone that is up for a challenge! (Obviously if you have medical concerns or risks please consult a Dr before doing it). I think it's helpful to have some sort of working out experience a head of time and to make sure you read/watch the safety guidelines for lifting weights so that you can prevent injuries.

As a busy mama with 2 kids under 5 I didn't feel like I was stretched for time doing this program at all. I was able to get my workout done each day, stuck with my 21 Day Fix containers which are also used in the Hammer and Chisel nutrition guide and really enjoyed this challenge. I LOVE this program and can't wait to do another round!

Hammer and Chisel: Week 4 Month 1 Results

Hey Hey Friends! I can't believe month ONE of Hammer and Chisel is already complete! I am loving the way this program is challenging me, keeping me engaged and giving RESULTS!

This week I noticed my hunger level increased a little, I upped my water and was fine :)

This week also wrapped up my "#PushPlayEverydayChallenge" for January! I worked out for 31 days straight! Feels so good to be getting my strength back, more energy and getting into a healthy routine for the new year!

Meal Prep this week was delicious! Made a big batch of the Fixate Frittata loaded with spinach, some edamame pasta with some orange infused avocado oil and a stir fry broccoli slaw blend. SO good!

Sunday marked day 28 of my first round of Hammer and Chisel and I took my Month One measurements and stats.

In one month I lost:

6.8 pounds
9 inches
1 pant size

I've lost 2 inches off my hips alone!

Honestly the pounds and inches lost is great, but really the strength and energy I'm gaining is worth all that and more in gold!

On to month two now!

Hammer & Chisel: Week 3

Week 3 of Hammer and Chisel has come and gone. I can't believe how much my strength and endurance has improved in such a short time. This is the first program since beginning this health and fitness journey where I'm not focused on a "goal weight". Instead I am focusing on strength, my energy level and building lean muscle.

This week I switched up my eating plan a little bit. Aimed for more protein and water and upped my weights in all but 1 of the workouts. I'm so torn between who's work outs I like better in this program, Sagi or Autumn. Honestly I like them both for different reasons.

I like the method behind Sagi's workouts, they are calculated, push you and pump you up. I like Autumn's workouts because that girl knows how to kick your butt! (In a good way). I also like your passion, and the way she can get you to step up your game and push just a little harder, or go just a little longer.

This weeks favorite workout was Total Body Chisel. Hello Pistol Squats!

Mid week I got a little surprise in the mail. The new Cafe Latte Shakeology! I may or may not have done a happy dance when I saw the box delivered. ;) In fact I was so excited about it, I had it for dinner that night! Yum.

ISO chisel strength was the last workout of the week. And it almost did me in with those weighted Lunges. Felt great to push through and get it done. One thing I wish I would have done at the beginning of starting this program was start filling out the tracker with what weights I'm using for each workout. I remember for the most part, but the data tracker in me wishes I had it on paper.

So apparently I move really fast in this workout ;)

Towards the end of week #3 I really started to notice a difference in my legs and the way my pants were fitting. I've lost 2 inches in my hips and am fitting in size 4 jeans that I haven't been able to wear since I was married 7 years ago! Looking forward to what the end results will be on day 60.

Here is Week #3's menu!

The Master's Hammer and Chisel: Week 2

Well hello there! I can't believe it's already day 15 of Hammer and Chisel! As my week #1 blog post said, I'm going to be blogging weekly on my progress with this program and how I'm doing on it!

I would say about day 12-13 I really started to feel my strength start to increase and my pants feeling looser. My appetite sky rocked this week so I upped my water in take and allowed my self 1 cheat meal (8 pieces of sushi and miso soup, yum).

Favorite workout of week #2? Definitely Chisel Agility! Wow that one put me through the ringer (in a good way). I think I might be crazy but I really like pistol squats!

Favorite meal this week?

Fixate Tacos. One word, YUM! This totally hit the spot! I will be posting my Incredible Hulk recipe (topping on the right side) in a new blog post this week.

I had an "a-ha moment" this week. Instead of having the mentality of "oh man I still gotta do my workout." Change it to "yes! I GET to work out today!" How blessed are we that we are able to take charge of our health and exercise and put clean foods into our bodies?

Woke up this morning on day 15 and took my mid month stats.

In 15 days I've lost

3.8 lbs and 5 inches (including 1 inch off my waist and 1.5 inches off my hips!)

TWO WEEKS.

What is 60 days going to bring?

All I know is that I've done every workout, stuck to the eating plan (minus my sushi night) and have taken this as a challenge I will complete.

Here was week #2's eating plan:

3 Day Plan to Get Back on Track

This past week I did a 3 day Refresh. I thought it was time after the summer that had a few cheat meals, a mini vacation and busy schedule to get myself back on track before the holiday season.

What is the 3 Day Refresh you ask?

It's a 3 day eating plan that is vegan, that focuses on getting veggies, healthy fats, fiber and high density nutritional shakes. It's a detox that eliminates all animal protein (including dairy) and processed foods from your diet for 3 days. And it helps reboot your digestive system, and jump start your weight loss goals.

And the best part? I never felt hungry, not once. I never felt shaky or super tired. It was easy to follow and I still got to EAT which is nice :)

Eat day my meals consisted of 3 shakes a day, tea, veggies with healthy fats 3x and you are allowed 2 servings of fruit (which I did not eat). There are recipes included to use for your dinners as well.

5 Signs that you need a detox:

1. Low Energy

2. Bad Sleeping Habits/Patterns

3.Bloating/Lack of Weight-loss

4. Foggy Brain

5. Food Cravings

(One meal not shown, dinner. We had a family birthday and ate out at a restaurant. I stuck to my plan and ate a plain salad with avocado. And had oil and vinegar on the side for dressing :) )

On Day 4 I woke up after having the best sleep I've had in weeks. Feeling alert, clear headed, not bloated and feeling good.

3 Days and I lost 3.8 lbs and 1 inch of my hips. What's really better than that though is the clear-headedness and the sleep quality I got!

I'm  a girl that likes to eat every few hours, and was unsure how well I'd be able to do this. However this was very doable as a busy working Mom and will be doing another one of these every few months!

It's motivated me keep up with my clean eating, load up on water and to limit processed foods and dairy.

If you are trying to get a jump start on your weight loss/fitness journey, at a plateau or just wanting to boost your progress so far... This is a great healthy way to do it! For the month of September there is a special deal to get Refresh for an amazing value!
