Core De Force Week 2 Progress and Review

How am I feeling with two weeks of this program under my belt?

Amazing. Sore. Stronger.

I needed a comeback more than ever. It's not something I'm ready to talk about here on my blog. Maybe sometime in the near future. For now just know that I was in a pretty low point. I was struggling mentally and physically and when I was accepted into a Test Launch group for this program. I knew this was gonna be a turning point for me.

This program has given me a new spring in my step. I'm tellin ya, there is just something about punch and kicking hair in the morning and boosts your mood. haha

I'm not just physically stronger, but mentally too.

So what have I been eating this week? A TON of food! We were given an extra purple container daily this week. But honestly, I haven't used them. I don't like fruit so I'm lucky to get 1 purple a day in with my frozen banana in my Shakeology or when I have marinara sauce or salsa... Yep that's the extent of my purple containers.

I resisted some really yummy looking desserts this week, pizza AND a burrito. I know right? I' amazed myself! Honestly they only sounded good for a split second. then I would think about how challenging that workout was that morning and that fueled my fire to resist it.

I have not felt deprived AT all! See that top right pic? Yep that's steak, eggs hot sauce with a little mozzarella cheese. Yep that's on my plan, and it was GOOD.

Speaking of Nutrition! Here is a quick vlog I did on my youtube channel this week answering some questions on the nutrition side of this program.

Week 2 Review:

I got a cold virus mid week. Sore throat, runny nose, fever.  Both my kids had to too and to say the least, we felt like crud. It really took me digging deep to push play daily and the help of being in the test launch group and my challenge group. Those 2 groups made a HUGE impact on me this week.

I was more tired this week. I'm not sure if it was being sick, or the week 2 "energy tank" that I've heard other test group participant talk about. It passed on Friday/Saturday and I fell like I ended the week with more energy than I started it.

The workouts? Phew they were challenging! But GOOD! MMA Power is intense but man it was fun! There isn't a workout I don't like on this program so far.

Week 2 Progress:

I stepped on the scale on day 15 this morning was was surprised! Despite all this FOOD I get to eat, I have now lost 6 pounds 5.5 inches in 14 days!

More importantly though my anxiety level has gone down SO much. I'm sleeping better, my chronic rib and neck pain has decreased and I'm having fun!

The "Stop, Drop, and Snap your Eats" Project

Have you ever started a new week, a new month saying “I am going to eat super healthy, get my workout in everyday AND sick with it!”

I know I have.

Have you then days later said “well what the heck happened?”

I know I have.

Then you decide to just throw all those healthy ideas out the window and tell yourself “next month I’ll do this for real.”

I know I have.

Do you want to know how to stop this cycle? How to not only get back on track with your eating, but to create consistent healthy habits that will stick long term?

I’ve got the first step right here for you.

The “Stop, Drop, and Snap your Eats” Project:

Step #1: Either in the challenge group you are currently in, the Dream Big Project or even on your personal FB, IG or snapchat. That for 1 day, 24 hours, before you eat anything, you’re going to post a picture of it first.

Step #2: Take the picture above and post it wherever you are going to be sharing your eats for the day and use the hashtag #DreamBigTribe and say that you are taking the challenge.

Step #3: Whatever platform you choose, all day take a picture before you take a bite of your breakfast, snacks, lunch, maybe more snacks and dinner. Then before you eat, you post it.

You’re probably wondering what will this do? It’s going to give you a giant boost of accountability. You’ll look at that pic, look at your plate and think, “Should I really be eating this?”

At the end of the day, not only do you have a diary of what you ate that given day. But you have a new found sense of awareness of what you are truly fueling your body with.

Does this work? YES! Not only have I done this “Stop, Drop, and Snap your Eats” challenge myself many times, but I have many challengers who have done the same and it’s helped them get back on track with their eating!

Nutrition is 80% and Exercise is the other 20% when it comes to reaching health and fitness goals.  A big eye opener I had when completing the 21 Day Ultimate Reset, was how mindlessly I was eating... one of my kids left over chicken nuggets... a hand full of gold fish or a half-eaten string cheese. (Hey real life here).

So today I am encouraging you to complete this challenge. Will you Stop, Drop and Snap your Eats today?

Comment below if you are taking the challenge. Once you’ve completed your mini challenge and ready for step #2 of creating a consistent healthy lifestyle change you can message me here:

Have a blessed day!

Join a Challenge

So if you've seen my posts or talked to me in person you've probably heard about this "Challenge Group" thing I talk about, and you're wondering what it is? I'm going to share with you 4 things that will help you not only make a healthy lifestyle change but KEEP one.
Fitness: One of the things that drew me to starting my fitness regimen with Beachbody was the ability to workout in my own home in 30 minutes a day. That's it. No commute to and from the gym, waiting for machines or having to find a sitter. I literally could just pop the DVD in and get to work.

Nutrition: Each program Beachbody offers comes with an amazing nutrition guide. The portion fix containers and easy to follow nutrition guide teaches you the proper amount of each food group you really need on your plate, and gives you delicious recipes to do so with. One of my favorite parts of my 21 Day Fix journey is I have never had to et something separate from my family. We all eat the same delicious healthy foods. I just simple measure out my portions using the containers before putting it on my plate. In my challenge groups I will help teach you new recipes to incorporate, answer questions and teach you tips and tricks to make this lifestyle change as smooth as possible.

Support: Being in one of my groups means you get to have me as your Coach. I've lost 40+ pounds on this lifestyle change and have been blessed with the opportunity to be able to encourage and support others on their own. In my challenge groups not only will you have me there cheering you on, but you will have a group of others who are on their fit journey as well. People that will become part of your #FitFam who you will share your highs, lows, and challenges with a long the way. We are in this together and together we are stronger.

PRIZES!I love giving stuff away in our challenge groups. Sweat selfie prizes, encourager of the week prizes.. so much fun! My favorite are the surprise prizes I like to through in when you least expect it ;)

By joining one of my challenge groups you can be assured you will always have a place to share your accomplishments, ask questions, be fueled with inspiration, recipes and fellowship.

How do I join? You can join one of two ways! Fill out the quick form below or send me an email at CoachJennyM@gmail.com. I'd love to hear about your goals, a little about you and together we'll pick the right program for you.

How long do these groups last? Typically about 3 weeks, which is the perfect amount of time to do a round of 21 Day Fix. Sometimes I'll do shorter or longer ones. If you want to stay in touch via Facebook you will be the first to hear of upcoming groups!

What is expected of me? To give this your best effort for the duration of the challenge. It won't always be easy, it won't always be comfortable. But the results you get and the new healthy lifestyle habits you will gain will be worth it.

What I would tell myself then, knowing what I know now.

2 years ago this was the normal type of picture of me. Arms and mid section cropped out and if there were others in the picture, I basically hid behind them. I was feeling uncomfortable in my skin, with zero energy after having my daughter and was still in maternity pants 7 months postpartum.

As I look at this pictures I can't help but think about what I would tell myself then knowing what I know now.

I would tell myself as I was beginning a healthier lifestyle change...

- That you are beautiful just the way you are. This isn't about looking like (insert name here) from the cover of a magazine. You are beautiful the way God made you and the size of your jeans isn't what's important.

- There are going to be days where all you want is a cheeseburger, some fries and to skip your workout. And that is 100% OK, this is about balance and a lifestyle change. Not something to get burnt out on and quit a week later.

- Don't over complicate this. Don't over think tracking calories, macros, body fat %, exact calories burns. Stick with your portion control containers, enjoy eating delicious whole foods and workout 30 minutes a day. Simple, not complicated.

- Don't base your results by the # on the scale. Track measurements, how your clothes feel, how much more energy you have, sleeping better, clearer skin, better moods. There are so many ways to see how this lifestyle change will bless your health.

- Lean in to your accountability groups and team mates. I can't imagine doing this without my Dream Big Tribe, my fellow coaches on the team and my accountability partners. We support each other on the highs/lows, celebrate NSV's (non scale victories), inspire each other and fellowship with one another. They are such blessings.

- Don't be afraid to let your kids see you stumble. Because when they see you stumble, they also see you get back up and finish it through.

- See what a blessing this chance is. What a blessing it is to be able to go to the grocery store, pick up healthy foods and bring them home to prepare for your family. To have two legs that move, air in your lungs and the freedom to workout in your own home.

The journey isn't a straight one. There are lots of ups, downs, loopy spins and everything in between. Each day that you wake up and make the choice to continue on this health and fitness journey will get you that much closer to your goals. Don't give up, stick with it. Lean in to your Coach, Accountability groups and keep that "why" in your heart. Don't give up friends! Today is a new day, and a new opportunity to bless your health and serve others.

Getting Back on the Wagon - It's a Choice.

For those of you that know me personally or have been following my pics on social media know my family and I just moved from the city to the country side. We up rooted our family from a townhome with no yard to 38 acres of Homestead. Some would say extreme (including me, lol) but we also say it's an adventure! We are very excited to create our forever home on this land and make it something for our kids to grow up on full of memories and life experiences.

Tonight's blog isn't about that though, it's about the choice we can make to recommit and get back on the wagon.

I will admit right here and now that Jenny, the coach, the one that works out daily, eats clean has fallen off course. These past couple weeks have been lots of moving, repairs, getting our house ready to sell, escrow, packing, more packing, etc. Our routine has been off and it's been hard for me to stick with my current program 22 Min Hard Corp and give it the best effort that I want too give it. We still have lots of work a head of us as we are preparing to build our new house, adjusting to living in a cabin, repairs on the land, and so on. I could keep eating sporadic meals and slice of pizza because it's convenient, or I can make the choice to begin again and get back on the wagon.

I don't mean "band wagon" I mean lacing those shoes back up, getting my meal prep on and jumping back into a routine again.

Life can be messy, we have seasons, chapters and events in our life that can take us off course from our goals. That's a reality. But we have a choice whether or not we are going to let that get us back into old unhealthy habits or not.

When I became a coach I promised myself that I wouldn't just show the "high light reel" of a healthy lifestyle. I wanted to be candid, and share the whole story, not just the "after pics". So here it is, my public pledge that I am officially "back on the wagon" and ready to rock this 8 week round of 22 Min Hard Corp.

Are you ready to get back on the wagon with your healthy lifestyle changes? Here are 5 things you can do starting right now to get back on track.

1. Calendar/Schedule out your workouts. What ever program you are following print out a copy of that calendar (you can find them in pdf form on your Beachbody On Demand or type/write out your own) and post it on your fridge. Each day you will check off that workout once it's been done. This will help keep you motivated because you'll feel accomplished each time you get to check off another box.

2. Meal Prep Time! Pick a day each week as your designated meal prep day. For my family it's Sunday afternoons. I'm able to prep out lunches and snacks for the whole week ahead. You can read how I go about this HERE

3. Drink your Shakeology everyday. Seriously this stuff is my jam. It's delicious, tastes like a chocolate milkshake but I'm really getting a ton of super foods, probiotics, protein, my daily vitamin, energy boost (bye bye afternoon coffee fix) and it curbs my sweet tooth. Need I say more?

4. Accountability Partner/Group: I run challenge groups because I know from personal experience how beneficial they are to this journey. I became a coach because I fell in love with the aspect of a challenge group. You get daily accountability, inspiration, motivation and you make friends that are there right along side you cheering you on.

5. Consistency. Sounds easy enough right? Whether you were on point with your eating all day or not, you show up again tomorrow and put your best effort in again. And again and again. this isn't a quick fix. This is a lifestyle change.

I hope these 5 tips will help you get back on the wagon as you start to work towards those health and fitness goals you've set for yourself! I would LOVE to be that person in the corner for you helping you stay accountable, inspired and excited to reach your goals.

If you are ready to do this fill out the items below and let's get to moving together! :)

Diet < Healthy Living: Which sounds more appealing?

What do you think of when you hear the word "dieting"?

When I hear it I think restrictive food intake, stressful, no fun at all, watching others eat delicious food and something we feel we "have" to do to lose weight.

It wasn't until the end of my 20's did I really started to change my mindset and I stopped "dieting" and embraced the blessing that each day we have a choice to improve our health.

Healthy Living: Embracing that reality that we are blessed with the choice everyday to improve our health. We don't HAVE to workout, we GET to workout. Do you see where I am going with this?'

God has blessed each of us with one body and we're created in His image. As a christian my heart says that if God formed me and knew me before I was even born why would I want to hurt that body God put such care into? When we eat excessive bad food, don't exercise and fill up on sugar we aren't helping our body. In fact we can make our bodies very sick by doing that.

Making a healthy life style change doesn't have to feel restrictive, Instead it can be something we rejoice in. We have the opportunity to have the CHOICE to bless our health.

If it's been on your heart to improve your health, I encourage you not to look at it with dread. Mindset is key to making a lasting healthy lifestyle change for you and your family.

Be kind to yourself, don't beat yourself up on yesterdays meal or today's lunch. Instead make the choice right now at this very moment to keep moving forward on your goals to a healthier lifestyle. I promise you won't regret it.

Blessings,

10 Reasons Why Taking 30 minutes a Day to Exercise is Worth Your Time

Having a hard time convincing yourself to get a workout in today? Well I have 10 reasons that will help you get off the couch and get your body moving!

1. It lifts your mood! Yep, not only will you feel accomplished for completing your workout. You will also feel a boost in your mood!

2. It helps you lose weight and strengthen your body

3. Boosts your mental health!

4. Let's get real. We spend more time scrolling through social media each day than the time it takes to get a 30 minute workout in. Let's all commit to putting our phone down and taking charge of our health!

5. Improves Sleeping Patterns: Hello sweet dreams! I'm all for a good night sleep :)

6. Strengthens your heart and bones!

7. Leading by example for your loved ones. Spouse, kids, co-workers, friends... the list goes on and on. By leading a healthier lifestyle you will start a ripple effect to others around you encouraging them to do the same.

8. Because it's ONLY 30 minutes (sorry I had to say it).

9. Helps improve your eating habits. On those days you've put in a workout you'll think extra hard about what you choose to eat. Why waste the hard work you just put in?

10. Getting 30 minutes of exercise each day will overall help improve your quality of life. You will be more motivated to go after your dreams, you will improve your physical and mental health and will take more opportunities to seize the day! We only get one body to live in, want to help and bless others? Take better care of your body! You will have more energy to be present in all areas of your life.

So are you ready to get moving and get that workout in? You can do this! And I would love to be there to help encourage and support you. If you are looking for an accountability partner/Coach fill out the quick form below and I will get back to you asap!
